Now that you’re three months into the new year, how are you doing with your New Year’s resolution diet and fitness goals? According to Statistic Brain, nearly of half of all Americans make diet, fitness, and health related New Year’s resolutions, but less than 8% are successful in actually sticking to it and accomplishing their goal.
Simply put, Americans are in bad shape. According to data released by the U.S. Centrs for Disease Control and Prevention, less than half — 48.4% — of adults meet the recommended guidelines for weekly aerobic activity. In addition, only 24% of American adults meet the recommended guidelines for muscle strengthening.
But what is this? It’s not for lack of knowledge, but rather, poor dietary habits in conjunction with an increasingly sedentary lifestyle and increased reliance on computers and mobile devices have all contributed to higher rates of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and other chronic illness.
Perhaps another reason is accountability. Working out and adhering and adopting healthier eating habits can be difficult, especially if you haven’t done so before. However, working with a personal trainer can not only result in weight loss and get you the body you’ve always wanted, you’ll be a lot healthier internally too. They’ll also hold you accountable for your own progress. Often times the pressure of knowing you’ll have to report is enough to stay motivated and fit.
Personal fitness trainers understand that there is no cookie cutter approach to weight loss. Everyone’s body, metabolism, and fitness goals are different, and therefore require a different approach. Therefore, your personal trainer will work closely with you in order to create a personal fitness plan that best suites your needs.
While personal training rates vary from gym to gym and trainer to trainer, they are well worth it. After all, why risk your health and the quality of your life based on personal training rates? Your health is both precious and priceless!
